Summer Menu Inspired by the Rhythm of Moscow at Lobby Lounge
Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow presents its renewed summer menu for the Lobby Lounge Bar. Executive Chef Andrey Kagokin has developed a standalone concept for the venue, focusing on dishes suited to any occasion, from a quick lunch during a business meeting to a pause between strolls through the city centre or a relaxed evening by the fireplace after a busy day.
The hotel’s Lobby Lounge has long been a meeting point not only for hotel guests but also for Moscow residents. Building on this role, the updated menu reinforces the bar’s position as an independent gastronomic destination, distinct from the café restaurant while maintaining the signature level of quality and attention to detail.
Croissants and sandwiches take centre stage. The classic croissant with ham and Emmental cheese sits alongside versions with cold-smoked salmon and cream cheese, as well as an original take on the iconic Caesar salad in croissant form with chicken, Parmesan and romaine lettuce.
Among the sandwiches are a shrimp option with avocado and herb butter and a vegetarian choice on multigrain toast with hummus, pickled vegetables and rocket. The classic club sandwich and prime beef burger, served with French fries and coleslaw, offer heartier options for those who prefer familiar yet flawlessly executed classics.
This balance of familiarity and creativity is further reflected in the chicken shawarma, a dish widely recognised yet, in the hands of the Baltschug team, transformed into something entirely distinctive. The combination of tender meat, pickled carrots, fresh vegetables and garlic sauce in thin pita bread achieves a refined balance of texture and flavour that will be appreciated even by the most discerning guests.
Beyond the core selection, the appetiser section offers a range of light bites designed for sharing or pairing. These include bruschetta with Parma ham and burrata or tomatoes and basil, classic blinis with red caviar and lightly salted salmon with creamy horseradish sauce, served with grissini, capers and lemon. Spring rolls with vegetables, chicken or prawns add freshness and vibrancy to the menu.
Executive Chef Andrey Kagokin shares his thoughts on the philosophy behind the concept:
‘The Lobby Lounge is a place where guests enjoy complete freedom of choice, whether for a quick lunch, an evening aperitif or a cup of coffee with a croissant. We have created a menu that works seamlessly across all these moments. Even the most familiar formats such as sandwiches or shawarma are elevated in our execution into dishes worthy of a five-star hotel. This is food that does not require much time but leaves a lasting impression.’
Selected items, including soups, salads and main courses, overlap with the menu of the hotel’s Kranzler Café, giving Lobby Lounge guests the option to enjoy more substantial dishes when desired. However, the core philosophy of the updated menu remains focused on lightness, speed and gastronomic pleasure.
Finally, the setting itself completes the experience. The fireplace area in the lobby creates a particularly inviting sense of warmth and refinement throughout the year, offering a relaxed backdrop for both informal meetings and quiet moments.
Dish prices range from RUB 650 to 2,450. The new menu is available daily at the Lobby Lounge Bar of Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow.
