Five Stars at the Baltschug
From 1 to 31 August, Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow is set to participate in the inaugural federal gastronomic festival, ‘Five Stars’, organised with the support of the all-Russian hotel award, WHERE TO TRAVEL HOTEL AWARDS.
The event brings together five-star hotels from six Russian cities, including 11 of Moscow's finest hotels. The festival aims to challenge stereotypes about ‘boring’ hotel food and to showcase the wide variety of cuisines by contemporary chefs. Today, the culinary aspect of travel is just as significant as exploring local landmarks.
Chef Andrey Kagokin crafts an exclusive set menu for the festival, which guests can enjoy at the Café Kranzler or on the summer terrace, offering stunning views of the Kremlin.
Festival menu by Chef Andrey Kagokin:
Starter
Veal tongue carpaccio with piquant sauce and shallots in wine glaze
Main course
Tender pike patties with celeriac cream
Dessert
Classic rum baba with chocolate cream
The full set menu is priced at RUB 2,300.
Dishes may also be ordered individually.
The perfect accompaniment to the set is our signature cocktail, ‘The Riddle’ – a blend of cognac, orange liqueur and white vermouth (RUB 1,150), thoughtfully selected to complement the menu’s flavour profile.
‘It is a great honour for us to be part of such a large-scale project as the “Five Stars” festival’, says Andrey. ‘Above all, it offers an opportunity for us to demonstrate that gastronomy at the Baltschug has long evolved from merely an add-on service. Each dish in our festival set tells a story, presenting familiar flavours in an entirely new light’.
Last year, Chef Andrey Kagokin was shortlisted for the WHERE TO TRAVEL HOTEL AWARDS in the ‘Best Hotel Chef’ category.
