‘Viktor Borisov-Musatov: The Harmony of the Image’ Exhibition

His life and work reflect a constant journey of self-improvement and perseverance in the face of difficult circumstances. Associated with the Silver Age and Symbolism, Borisov-Musatov also captured the attention of artists who would later become leading figures of the avant-garde.

The exhibition explores his unique working method, including his use of photography as part of his creative process. The relationship between his photographic studies, photographic sketches and paintings is one of the exhibition's key themes. A special section is devoted to his sketches for monumental murals, reflecting his quest to bring different art forms together and move beyond the confines of art into the space of real life.

More than 140 works by Viktor Borisov-Musatov are on display, drawn from 20 museums and private collections.
