SVOYASY: Traditions of the Future
The exhibition SVOYASY: Traditions of the Future is on display at the Exhibition Complex of the State Historical Museum until 7 September 2026.
The fourth annual edition of the SVOYASY project explores the theme of the future and reflects on what it may become when the traditions of our ancestors are preserved and reinterpreted for contemporary life. The exhibition brings together 100 artists, designers and craftsmen, with each exhibit offering a thoughtful reflection on cultural identity and the role of tradition in the modern world.
The main section of the exhibition features works by contemporary artists that celebrate the diversity of life through rich forms, colours and ornaments. From the kokoshnik to white-stone carving, and from traditional calendar festivities to Orthodox liturgy, various elements of folk culture serve as sources of inspiration for affirming and celebrating life.
